Executive Director | Isuroon
Fartun Weli, MPH, MAPP (Panel Moderator) is Founder/Executive Director of Isuroon, a nonprofit organization with a mission to help Somali women and girls build self-sufficiency and social-connectedness. Fartun has more than two decades of experience in the medical field, including specific research projects. Fartun holds a B.A. in Business/Project Management from Capella University and a Master’s in Public Health from Walden University. She has gained international prominence for challenging the Somali taboo against speaking openly about reproductive and mental-health issues and is recognized as an indispensable liaison between the Somali and mainstream communities.
