Alberder Gillespie is a visionary leader, an entrepreneur, strategy consultant, political strategist and speaker/facilitator. She has developed a reputation as a truth-teller, change agent, and strategic problem solver. Alberder’s many clients in multiple industries have benefited from her action and result oriented approach, as well as her capacity to build strong coalitions. Her ability to design and implement strategic action plans that deliver results led to the successful launch of her consulting firm, Collaborative Connections. Alberder’s client list includes some of Minnesota’s top corporations and not-for-profit organizations.
Alberder thrives at aiding individuals and organizations at identifying their challenges, strengths, and growth opportunities. She is extremely skilled at assisting organizations at identifying and leveraging their collective power. She is a political and leadership powerhouse. Alberder has vast leadership experience in multiple arenas. She has served as political party leader, crisis manager, candidate training, campaign consultant and manager. As the Chief Convener and Strategist and co-founder of Black Women Rising, an organization whose mission is to “leverage Black Women’s organizing skills, leadership potential and political power to influence and impact” policy and community, Alberder has the establish the organization as one which is changing the political and leadership landscape. She has moved the organization forward by: building strategic relationships, identifying and uniquely leveraging community assets, creating an organizational culture focused on collaboration and power building, and by utilizing an asset based communication approach. Under Alberder’s leadership, Black Women Rising is set to transform the political and leadership landscape. Currently, she also serves as board chair for the Black Civic Network (BCN), which has successfully increase civic engagement in the Black community. As board chair, Alberder has been instrumental in setting and promoting the mission and vision of BCN.
Alberder is also recognized as a champion in diversity and inclusion matters. Her cultural sensitivity is an important component of her many accomplishments. Having worked extensively with other cultures, her ability to perform outreach and strategically connect with diverse individuals and organizations has been invaluable for her clients. Alberder’s innate talent to overcome cultural barriers has earned her the trust and respect from colleagues and clients alike.
As a speaker, trainer, and facilitator, she presents, consults, and conducts training with corporations, professional organizations, and nonprofits on personality and leadership style, maximizing professional potential, embracing human diversity, obstacles and opportunities, and strategic planning. Alberder is an awesome speaker/facilitator with the ability to connect with persons of diverse backgrounds.
Alberder is also involved and committed to community. She’s currently serving on the Minnesota Attorney General elect transition team. She is a former fellow for MN2020, current Minnesota Amateur Sports Commissioner and Common Cause MN board member, a former member of the South Washington County School Board, former member League of Women Voters, current participant in Restore the Vote alliance, former endorsed candidate for state representative, the University of MN’s Presidential Advisory Board, current board Chair of the Black Civic Network, local political/civic engagement leader and much more.
